Ok so for the price you get what you pay for. We are from Oregon on a road trip with it two daughters, we had originally checked into another hotel right down the street and started unpacking went to put something into the fridge and noticed a cockroach. I instantly told everyone to repack and that we were not staying. Went to get money back and got into it with the manager. She was not so nice. Needless to say I walked away with ALL of my money. Came here and the gentleman who checked is in was AWESOME! The only downfall is the head housekeeper needs to do a better job on inspecting the rooms. It didn't stink or have a weird smell, it was adequate and nice. I appreciate how the gentleman was and how he was able to call us down we were still shaking from the other place.

It was clean and comfortable. A little dated but nice place to rest after being on the road for hours. The lady at the desk friendly and will guide you on what to see and local road closures.

We had reservations for this place and sadly I had messed up the dates for us and so it was completely booked. I got my money back for the incorrect booking.. The young lady was kind enough to catch up to us in the parking as we were getting ready to leave. She had found us another hotel in the area and even got us a discount. She didn't have to do that and it really made our trip better.

We needed a hotel for the night in Crescent City after some inclement weather. Most of the hotels/motels in town were already booked up, and we decided to stay at the Redwood Inn despite some of the reviews online. We're glad we did! The folks working were friendly, the room was clean, the bed was reasonably comfy, and the area seemed safe. The place is a little dated and there is no A/C (not a problem during our stay), but overall it was a good experience for a roadside motel in coastal California :)

The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful in guiding us to things in the area. The room was everything I expected for the price, nothing extravagant but I didn't pay for extravagance. Overall I was very satisfied and would go back again.

Hands-down the best and cleanest rooms. Staff were friendly, prices during the holiday were very reasonable.

It's an inexpensive, 'characterful' motel--every road trip demands at least one night spent in one of these. The front desk was friendly and very helpful. If you want top of the line accommodations, of course, you'll need to look elsewhere; this is a value-, or in our case experience-driven decision to stay here.

We stopped in Crescent City during our road trip and booked this motel last minute, as there were no Marriott options left. Even though all our other hotels on this trip were booked last minute too, this ended up being the most expensive stay by far – over $200 for a basic motel. Unfortunately, it felt like a poor value. The room had an unpleasant smell, the parking didn’t feel secure, and there were absolutely no amenities. For a motel that old and basic, unless you’re in a major city with a big event driving up demand, the price was unreasonable. Honestly, I would have rather stayed elsewhere or driven to another town. Still not a one star, with the area of improvement— that a small family business can do, keeping it clean, putting some gates, making parking secure, and may be some gardening around, nice painting, working in rooms, nice towels, bed sheets- count definitely turn around, and bring positive feedback from customer. So, even though it’s 2-3 star experience, with small business in mind, dropping 4 star.

I stayed July 2024, as a solo traveller on a road trip. I was driving from Reedsport, OR, to San Francisco, and needed somewhere to stop for the night. Motel is near the highway, so there is a small amount of truck noise, but my earplugs dealt with that. Bathroom fan didn't work, which I didn't notice until I was checking out. I had no other issues, and I would definitely stay again if I am back in the area.
